The original case once opened doesn't always fit back as it should so it is sacrificial. An aftermarket case should snap back firmly. |

I have done a few, and you remove the key part first, then put a pair of long nosed pliers in the hole, then pull the handles apart to seperate the two parts. The originals are glued, and they can crack down the edge. New pattern shells are cheap enough. Ther are people who refurbish the whole key for around £25, so its another way to go. |

Thanks, I have a new shell to use, just going to try the second spare key in the car to make sure it’s ok, then I can attack the one that’s worn out. |
