There's an extra bracket at the back of the Evoque subframe, which holds another mass damper, which isn't fitted to the Freelander 2 subframe.
There's also an extra brace between the suspension mounts, which is presumably to beef up the subframe it that point (maybe it needed a bit of extra strength there), which again wasn't on the original Freel subframe.
As long as that extra brackets don't interfere with the Freel 2 body, diff or suspension, it looks like it could fit. If the mass damper fits too, it might even be a bit quieter, and maybe beef up the suspension a bit too? Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

It is me that Richie was referring too with the earlier photos so just clearing up a few things.

Evoque frame needs to be an early one, mine is a 2012 which is still pretty new to me!

Yes the geometry is slightly different, about 1.5mm increase in track either side, easily taken out with the cam bolts. But more importantly the arms mount 16mm higher in the frame. So in theory pull the rear wheels in at the bottom and add positive camber. But it's negligible, to save trying to post photos and stuff again here is a link to a post where I was asking about the geometry, and subsequently getting told I'm going to jail

Car has been on the road three months and flew through an mot with no advisorys, I'm an Evoque frame convert, so much so I bought another one for another fl2 I bough as a little upgrade to myself, sold cheap as rotten rear frame...

Only thing I didn't say then, is the handbrake brackets need swapped, if you can change a subframe you can drill a few new holes and modify the old brackets. But because of the lift it puts a bit if strain on the cables and they tend to pop out. My new frame I will be making custom brackets with an extra 16mm height.

Also the anti roll bar is identical, except for where the little aluminium stop ring is located for the bushes, Evoque frame the bushes ate slightly further apart. So can use either anti roll bar if you can move the stops, I just used the Evoque bar.

chrisg , cheers for that i have removed my subframe and in the middle of cleaning it up there are a couple of small holes in it which i will be welding up this week , i did have a subframe ordered from ebay but the seller has dissapered but his loss as dont need it now  2009 FL2 S now gone

yeah it is nodge68 but i had ordered 1 from fleabay whilst i was removing it and the vendor vanished and ithought wont take too much just a wire brush fitted to an angle grinder then fire up the mig welder . 2009 FL2 S now gone

Yes lets get real.
People make all sorts of modifications to the geometry of their cars. Many people lower their cars but don't correct the increased camber and their insurance still accept the mods.
I lowered my BMW and put M3 arms on the front but I did go out of my way to get the geometry setup of properly and removed the excess camber. Jules

Hi. This issue has come to mine also now. Frame rusted through several places. Reads that a replacement frame needs to be an early Evoque rear frame. Found a few on Ebay that ships to Norway. What years apply to an early Evoque frame?

Can anyone advise if rear subframes unbolt and rebolt straight in or does the subframe need aligning to the body before all the other stuff gets fitted and wheel alignment done? Im sure i read somewhere that the front subframe has to be re aligned if its removed?
