Hi,I dont know what excess you are willing to pay in the avent you have an accident but if your willing to increase this amount it will bring your policy down.It will allso vary arround what you do for a living, where you live and what you use your car for,ie do you drive to work?or do you use it for domestic social plesure only, try a limited mileage per year & see if that helps. Thumbs Up

I use my car for business use and i also work in the construction industry so that might add a few pounds to the price! And shes parked on the driveway at night coz she wont fit in the garage (well where else am i gonna put the lawnmower?) I almost fainted when I got a quote of our companies broker who insures our fleet of vans and even our public and private liabilities etc - they want almost £1,600!!!

In the end I have gone for Liverpool Victoria at £500, most helpful out of everyone I tried - got them to acknowledge in writing the bodykit before I hit the 'buy' button and their excesses are half what others were quoting.

As an added bonus as I use the freely for business use the gaffer has offered to foot half the bill Surprised

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey

I'm very lucky that I don't have to insure a car at present. I sometimes have a winge about the very restrictive choice of cars I get through our car scheme, but when I read threads like this I realise that there are benefits in the scheme even if car choice is limited.

By default any immediate family members are covered, even teenage daughters on provisional licence. I can add anyone else to the cover by filling in a simple form on-line (no questions about driving history just age). When I see that our system is so simple and pays so little attention to driver history it makes me wonder why other insurers are so restrictive. When/if I move on from this scheme to owning my own car again then I can get a written statement which should allow me to claim all my years in the scheme as claim free to a new insurer. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor Smile ... but not any more ... Big Cry ... psst look at my gallery!
Company cars ... a thing of the past - May 2013.

We went with LV= last time (in Jan) and have just got the £45 cashback from Quidco. Thumbs Up

Online quotes let you play and discover it doesn't reduce the cost if garaged vs on drive. So I say 'on drive' and garage if I've got it clean and shiny. Ticking the towbar modification doesn't usually change premiums either.

Got the first door dink the other day (damn you dark blue car driver!) but it has virtually polished out, thankfully.
