Tonight featured a 1966 Volvo P1800 with 3.2 million miles on the clock Was owned by Irv Gordon who’s mechanic mate said it was 90% original, the engine and transmissions having been rebuilt only twice.
Irv died in November 2018 by which time the car had been recognised in the Guinness Book of World Records.

I am sure this appeared on another programme a while back and I am sure they said that Volvo used to pay for it to be shipped back to Sweden for its annual service and any other major works.

It was on Quest last night at 10pm, believe this is a ‘new’ series. It’s been on Quest every morning 10-11 for ages although mostly repeats.

And it was pretty spotless - the bodywork looked good as did the interior. The boot was another matter as it seems the owner carried pretty much a spare of everything just in case he should break down

Original battery in my 2002 V70 was replaced at 15 years 5 months, I got the replacement from a Volvo dealer for just a few more £ than the alternative online outlets. Owned by me from new, I'm still running the car. Mind you it did cost me a new car when I went to collect the battery they had a pristine 2014 FL2 Metropolis on the forecourt with 16k on it that I just couldn't resist.

Out for a walk today & a 1972 Ford XA GT Falcon Coupe in violet colour drove past. Looked absolutely in mint condition assuming in was not a copy & the 351 V8 sounded the part as well. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
