Registration plate letters

After wracking my brain, not hard to do, I wiondered if anybody here has any ideas.

I have a classic french car which has a curved front registration plate. When I got the vehicle the numerals and letters were stick on white vinyl. Last week decided to get something better, I thought. So off came the stickers
and both plates front and rear resprayed. Problem now is that being a french plate it will not accept the legal UK numerals or letters which should , in theory, be 79mm high. The front plate can only accommodate leters 75mm high at most.
So have looked around and all I can find are the stick on vinyl jobs again. I would like if possible to get some like classic cars have ie greyed aluminium look, but seems 75mm is not possible. Apart from getting a new plate made I cannot think of another solution. Confused

Got a picture of the car? How about some of the pressed black and silver aluminium plates? can be carefully bent and affixed. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Attached pic of same bumper fitted to mine and one of actual plate.

As you can see it is not like just bending a flat plate the actual plate is curved.

I have seen some owners put a flat plate on but on the curved bumper does not look right.

Yeah, see what you mean. Assume you have spoken to some of the classic number plate suppliers? They are normally keen to assist. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Is there nothing available on Ebay 'LE France'?
75mm may be a common size on the their side of the channel.

Have spoken to a couple. It is the curve that is the problem. Nobody seems to have a press that shape.

As far as I can remember french plates and characters have same dimensions as our ie letters and numbers are 79mm also.

I wonder if that plate was intended for a motorbike and had 63mm lettering originally?

May be worth giving these guys a shout

Have you thought of trying an engineering worksho0? They may be able to CNC cut the shape with the letters for you ?

Think idea of the stencil might be good so I can then paint it. Providing they can do a curved stencil.

Is the genuine plate from day one.

Spoke to them and problem again is curved plate. Additionally I would do the rear plate which again is not straightforward, as it has a bend in it as shown in attached piccy.
