I think it’s the fact that most if not all of the vehicles sold by landrover are now of premium range and their owners just pay whatever the cost at the main dealers for servicing and repairs so they just charge crazy prices but unfortunately they apply this pricing structure even if you turn up with your 10 year old Freelander. The good thing with the FL though is most stuff is pretty straightforward there are plenty of parts available and not that expensive to maintain as a DIYer, there isn’t many tasks that haven’t been tackled and discussed in depth on this forum and this saves us all a fortune . |

Lower suspension arm bought from e-bay still in my garage. Can't feel any problem from the one which had an advisory ball joint movement yet . No knocking / feels and drives the same |

I've come to this late but for info. my local independent Land Rover specialist charged me £134 labour inc VAT for replacing one of the arms, which I think is one and a half hours' worth. I've just bought a decent OEM one for the other side from Craddocks plus all the new bolts and nuts which cost me £104 inc. VAT.

Had the same a year ago a independent garage replaced 1 and shortly after I did the other.
