The fluid you want for 2011 onwards is JWS 3324 (AW1). That's listed for your fluid. are you doing it yourself? |

Thanks, it’s just that I have read so much about this, there are pages and pages on this and other forums I wondered if anyone else had used this Comma fluid. I thought it was the right stuff but got a touch of the ‘seconds’. I’m going to have a go myself at draining it and refilling. At 3 liters at a time, the forums suggest all at once might be to big a shock. |

Hello defendersv, I can understand your plight regarding the Comma brand of automatic gearbox oil, well I spent a while researching this oil and in the end having exhausted the minefield of auto gear oils asked the advice of a main dealer friend which oil brand is suitable having priced up main dealer stealer oil which in fact has the same Dexron spec grade you have quoted,

Aisin Warner make the FL2 auto gearbox and their spec is JWS 3309 or JWS 3324 for later models.

Gearboxes are funny things. My 1988 Defender had a manual LT77 gearbox which used a Dexron ATF ! Jules |

I do the Gibbons method, well a slightly modified version. It is based on the Volvo fluid change same auto box. Volvo used to do a fluid change kit with pipes ( they may still sell it). |

Hi thanks for your replies. I think the sheer volume of information has led to my concerns. I’m going to use the Comma stuff I already have. I will post an update once done in case any one else is in the same predicament. |

I got the set from Rimmer Bros for convenience but the postage was more than the price of the washers. But probably still less than driving to Charles Hurst to get them! |
