The biggest problem I had on a trip organised by the Honiton Land Rover Experience centre was the ground clearance of the Freelander. On an ordinary metalled lane, was a man hole cover that would have ripped out the fuel tank if Iād just driven over it. The car coped with everything else with ease, even fording a river, no crocodiles. |

Wet grass can defeat the best equipped 4x4s fitted with anything less than extreme tyres. When I started greenlaning back in the mid-eighties it was essential training by LR to understand the dangers of traversing a grass slope or executing a failed hill climb on grass.
