Scotland 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Stornoway Grey
Discs,pads and handbrake shoes

2010 HSEAuto.

Hello to all . Just about to start a wee bit of controversy.
Car passed MOT wth two advisories.
1. Discs and pads worn
2. Corrosion on rear subframe but no weakness.
Item 1, I am now 80, don,t do a big mileage, never off road.
Thinking of just fitting discs pads and shoes from Britpart.
Thoughts please, if it had been pads only I would have used Mintex.
Thanks Jim A

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

Britpart don't make pads or rotors (discs), so presumably they're from a decent supplier.

I've got a issue with a rotor on mine, where I've got a slight vibration when slowing down.
The pads, rotors and calipers are 12 months old, with about 3,000 miles on them.
However one of the rotors has an unusual wear pattern forming, which I'm thinking is due to an issue with that particular rotor's manufacture, and the likely cause for my vibration under braking.

I'm going to contact the supplier. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver.

I got genuine LR pads and discs from Duckworths (forum sponsor so don't forget to ask about discount) for a very very competitive price. For the cost difference to pads & discs (which was small to non existent for quality aftermarket branded items) I'd rather have genuine Thumbs Up 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

I suggest that when the pads are out, you get the wheel bearings checked as well. Worn wheel bearings are often a sign of shuddering brakes. The front lower arm rear bush, when it gets old can cause a braking judder, I have just replaced both of our lower front arms, the rear bush was very bad.

Back in the days when I had an FL1 I had an MOT failure on the front discs (I was not surprised really) I got the garage to fit some new ones. After a few weeks I noticed a bit of brake judder so went back and the garage replaced them under warranty. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

What make did you fit? Both of mine leaked their oil within 3 months.
