OK then, we were in the EU for over forty years (and I voted to go into the COMMON MARKET because that was a great idea, so I reserve the choice to decide what it morphed into was not what I voted for, let’s wait and see how it turns out, after all we have been quite busy with “other things” for the past two years since the official separation. My insurance company protect me against uninsured drivers without penalty apparently*. *thankfully never had to test it. Regards David Lovely i6 has now gone, but not me...... Please let me know if anything in my post offends you, as I may wish to offend you again...... |

LVE……it’s quite universal now backed by the MIB, the only fly in the ointment is if it’s a hit and run as they require the name of the driver , but I believe that kind of incident is also covered by the MIB but under a different scheme. Regards

As I said earlier in this thread, it's better for the car to be insured, rather than the driver. No possibility of the driver being uninsured for a particular vehicle. So glad Macron is back in charge, otherwise we would be looking at Frexit !!!!

Which is why I pointed that out, but a lot of drivers are not thieves but just driving without insurance, these are the ones your covered for…..if you don’t like that bit just ask not to be covered for it on your policy  Regards

How do you govern or adjust the pricing for teenage drivers on the cars policy? I’d rather I am insured as an older driver with the cheaper premiums that cover me and my car (which will never be driven by anyone but the two of us) than some extortionate premium “just in case” it gets driven by a 20 year old student. Even though the car is insured it is not necessarily insured for all drivers. Here, for example, the compulsory (third party) insurance covers drivers aged 23 and over with minimum 3 years' experience. The compulsory insurance is doubled to include young drivers. On a Freelander that would be around £250 pa.

You know, with self driving cars, insurance should be provided by the manufacturer since the driver is the manufacturer.........my 2 cents CDN. |

There was a letter to the Financial Times a few weeks ago where the writer argued that fully driverless cars will never really happen . The argument was that as soon as there is an accident then the "no win no fee" lawyers will get involved and that the manufacturers will be inundated with class action law suits (especially in the US). Basically he argued that there is no upside for manufacturers as they will be responsible for everything including maintenance during it's lifetime. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
