Having had the old girl written off, car not wife, thought I would have a change of make. Maybe not, now looking at a 2012 SD4 Dynamic Command Shift at auction tomorrow.
Now is there anything I should be wary of regarding this variant? Will the headlamps be as useless as the ones I had before if Halogens? Were Xenons an option on a 2012 model, Oct 2012,Pictures look good, obviously better idea when I view tomorrow.

No problem there. Car was parked up with nobody inside. Insurance paid out more than I reckoned.

Yes downloaded makes it a lot easier seeing it in print.

Now another question about this vehicle. It was traded into a Kia garage who have subsequently sent it to the auction. Between the previous owner taking it to the Kia garage and now the MOT expired, 6 days ago.
I am in a quandary as to how to go about sorting this if I actually get it at auction. I cannot, tax it until it is MOT'd.
I cannot take it to an MOT station without tax. A bit of chicken and egg.
Any suggestions as to how to overcome this?

You can drive an untaxed car to have an MOT carried out. Just as long as the MOT is pre-booked.

The other proviso is that the tax covers the MOT date when purchased, you can't have an MOT on the 29th on an untaxed car and then get the tax from the beggining of the next month.
That car will be really cheap at the auction, traded in just before the MOT runs out would tend to indicate it wouldn't pass, check the previous MOT for advisories, it is a fair bet they will all be failures come this MOT and probably also needs a set of boots, you may be in for £4k bill unless you are handy with mechanics. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Yes one can do that but you cannot drive an uninsured vehicle. Yes I can insure it first but if, heaven forbid, it was involved in an accident first thing insurance check is has vehicle valid tax and MOT.

Except if I have an accident, what then. All well and good saying ffs but is a possibility, albeit slim.
