Rice is a good idea I wouldn’t press any buttons until you’re 100% sure it’s really dry any chance of opening op it ? Would be easier to clean up. |

Have the case apart and the battery out, in the hotpress. 🤞 Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Open the case (using the emergency key in the square hole) , remove the battery, wash with distilled water and dry somewhere warm.

"I have to disagree with "3landertwo" about PCB damage from the water itself, though if it is left with power when wet, you then get electrolysis on the board and the PCB copper starts to dissolve in that situation."

Was there water in it, they do have a gasket, so are pretty well sealed. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I have used these people I couple of years ago when I also left the key in my jeans pocket and my OH accidentally washed and tumble dried my Freelander 2 (2014) 5 button smart key, they supplied and coded the key to the car, £140 (that was a few years ago) including coding to the car which I thought was a good deal compared to LR price. The key is exactly the same just no LR logo. He does do a supply only price but you would need to take it to be coded.
