Would have been a 998 originally on mine as its a 1982 model... but yes, got a 1330cc engine in it with various goodies on it. Had it tuned by AC Dodd recently, making about 88hp which is pretty respectable in a classic mini (not by modern car standards clearly )

By way of comparison, my M.G. on the previous page produces 48 bhp at 6,000 rpm from 890 cc. Standard is 847 cc and 36 bhp but it’s overbored by 60 thou., with modified cam and larger carbs. It was quite an engine in its day - sohc, crossflow head and, of course, the ubiquitous twin SUs. But cable operated brakes! |
