Mine were hanging off also but I replaced them as they are put there for a reason BUT I waxoyled the arch lips befor fitting as the waxoyl acts as a "glue" and seals them. If £49 prevents any rust then in my mind its money well spent but then I am very fastidous Rolling Eyes 2013 FL2 XS.

I cleaned and waxoyled the edges before fitting suitably sized U rubber strip from ebay (much cheaper). Except on the front LH side where I used a genuine part as its got an extra seal which the other 3 strips don't have. Jules

If it’s the same ones I used you measure and order by the metre and cut to size.

According to the FFRR forum, the L322's haven't
got anything there and a number of owners have been fitting
the Freelander trim. Laughing DAVE.

Ive tried to find some rubber strip on ebay etc that will do the job, but all are around max 10mm, and it needs to be at least 25/30mm to cover lip of arch like origonals ...anyone know where you can get some rubber trim to suit

Google Seal-Extrusions in Ipswich and go to their Ebay page and look for “Large Rubber U Channel Edging Trim Seal 21mm x 8mm.

Or this link might get you there https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223556425993 5metres at £3.55 a metre will be enough.

But be aware that the OEM trim is quite thick on one side to take up the gap between the flange and the wheel arch liner. That stops any fretting between the liner and metal that could damage the paint film and lead to corrosion. (It also stops build up of muck that could get behind the liner.)

You can achieve the same effect of preventing fretting by cutting several inch long pieces of the rubber extrusion and pushing these firmly in between the rubber seal strip (once in place) and the wheel arch liner. That will stop any movement of the wheel arch liner against metal, but not fill the gap as effectively as the proper OEM part.

Perhaps buy the correct OEM part for the passenger side front wheel arch though. That has an additional seal bead which I assume is intended to stop water splash near the air intake.
