Hyperthetical question would you swap FL2 for newer ?

My car runs good and I love it but it wont last forever, just for daftness what would you do if you had a 2007 HSE with 168,000 miles on??

Would you swap for a much lower spec 7 years younger model with 57,000 miles?? price seems fair for a 2014 - £11,995

Newer model, but would I miss all the toys Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

You might miss the toys, going from top of the range to the bottom? Keep looking for a higher spec model? Plenty out there. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 Metropolis LE Auto Fuji White

I swapped my 2010 FL2 XS for a 2014 FL2 Metro.
It was because I liked the XS so much that it became that I wanted to find the youngest best FL2 I could, to last as long as possible into the future. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

Is this a case of better the devil you know Rolling Eyes

And yes I would miss the toys, love the adaptive headlights on ours, probably one of the best options for a vehicle living in a rural area where the country lanes and lack of street lighting prevail Thumbs Up

Oh goodness, did all levels come with HDC? I would miss HDC brilliant for descending tight slippery switchbacks. The added control is amazing. Pretty darned useful in multi-storey car parks as well Mr. Green

The toys that came with my car I don't use, so added my own. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

The S has HDC and Terrain Response.
Has all the necessary hardware underneath, just doesn't have all the shiny things on top. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I believe so, as even the models without Terrain Control have HDC.

When I bought our 3rd FL2 I had in mind to keep it as long as possible, as I could see nothing else on the market at the time that was as reliable and cost effective. Experience with many previous vehicles meant I chose not to get things that had caused me problems in the past. So didnt want:
1) HID lights (had years of issues with them on my BMW - never resolved)
2) sunroof (had leaks, rattles and rarely used it)
3) diamond cut wheels (corroded easily and difficult to get refurbed)
4) electric seats (had failed controls and annoyingly slow to adjust)

I therefore discounted the Metropolis and bought a 6 month old ex-demo 2014 SE Tech.

The HB3 headlights turned out to be a disappointment but an aftermarket HID kit solved that issue. Other than that I have no regrets and so far had no problems in nearly 7 years apart from replacing the drivers door latch motors (£Cool. Jules

We swapped a 2008 HSE FL2 for 2014 Ewok and was paying hundreds a month for the privilege.
God I hated that car. I think it was called pauper edition, didn't even have front fog lights. Got rid 6ish months later and happily lost £8k on the deal.

What did I get to replace the Ewok - a 2016 DS HSE with all the toys, and I was in a very happy place.
Toys matter a lot especially if you spend a lot of time in the car. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Live after LR2

The only newer FL2 I'd consider is the Si4, whether you can import one from Oz or S.A. remains to be seen.

I may just save up and buy an early 2.0 Td4 (dare I say this) DS... Previous
