Electric Seat Adjustment

The electric drivers seat on my 2007 HSE i6 does not adjust as far back as the Passenger seat. This leaves me slightly short of leg room.

This photo shows the drivers seat front slide, with the seat as far back as it will go:

And this is at the rear underside of the seat, which shows the adjustment slide in line with the bottom rail that it slides within:

For comparison, here is the front end of the passenger seat slide:

And this is at the rear underside, showing the adjustment slide protruding approximately 1 inch from the rear of the bottom rail:

I was going to take the seat out today to get a better look at the slide, but the torx nut is larger than any of my torx tools, so I need to get the correct size to do so. I can see no obvious obstruction in either seat slide.

Any further suggestions to investigate?

Tim

I seem to remember this before.

the drivers seat needs resetting/calibrating.

I placed the words 'electric seat forward' in the SEARCH (of old posts) and found the above.

looks like the seat needs to be re-set ..... by dealer ???

try this.....

end seat calibration.

hold forward switch on, then started engine and seat went forward, must be away if resetting end points.

My white Autel AP200 scanner has an option to reset seats and it works on mine but I don't know if would adjust your seat mechanism

Thank you very much! I have full adjustment on my drivers seat restored.

Very simple - when you know how! Sat in the seat; docked the key fob; put my finger onto the fore and aft seat adjuster button, held it to the rear, then started the engine; a second later, the seat moved backward to its full extent.

Happy and comfortable now.

Thanks again.

Tim

Is there way to fix this or is there shorter rail installed on this car?
