I didn't mean for you to have extra work, Paul!

"Du P/Ht/Folding/Memory/Pd Lp/Reverse Mr" Any clues as to just what all this stands for?!

In reverse it only beeps when I get closer to an object, but not as a general warning to others.

The locking wheel nuts used to be a big thing 20-30 years ago when lots of alloy wheels were getting stolen. That is rare now, since most cars have alloys. In fact, on my XK I changed all the locking nuts for ordinary nuts, after one of the lockers became impossible to undo with the wheel spanner in the tool kit, leaving me stranded and unable to do a simple thing like change a flat tyre.

Correct but a good set of tyres on the alloys can prove very tempting. Think I'll keep my locking nuts on.

Mine beeps in reverse as you described (I don't know what the difference on the build sheet is for)

The Mirror (here is what I think these mean)

Du P..........Dual power maybe????
Ht..........Heated
Folding..........Mine don't power fold
Memory..........My mirrors and seats remember the position when you store 1, 2, 3
Pd Lp..........Puddle lamps (I have these)
Reverse Mr..........I think my mirrors dip when I use reverse (possibly only curb side I need to check)

I won't be getting locking nuts

Thanks

Paul

Motion,

I remember back in the day no one wanted to buy a car that was made on Friday or the last day of the month or during a strike if the workforce was significantly reduced but the manufacturer pushed to bring in "Replacement Workers"

With that in mind I'm not sure if Valentines day is good or bad.

It could go either way.

At this point it probably doesn't matter.

Take care

Paul

Yeah, I looked up that day of the month, year historical calendar. It was on a Wednesday AKA Hump Day!

And, yes, approx 230K kms and 14 years later, it truly no longer matters! The LR2 is chugging right along Bow down . On the list for today, re & re the high brake light with an LR replacement purchased on Ebay from Lithuania for a very decent price shipped to my door.

And BTW, the blower does still do a 'low whine" in -5+C weather. Sad

I needed to investigate why my rear screen washer was washing the inside of the glass, as well as the outside, as you do.

Pulling off the upper rear screen interior trim to ease the two high brake light tabs, I noticed a small white label inside the trim. Seems to indicate a date of 21.02.07 (I know it looks like 03 but when I straightened the label out it was clearly 02), the day before my rear squab assembly. All helps tie in the production data for my car. As to the legend 'Magna Kansei', they were the manufacturers of the part. Based in Sunderland, they describe themselves thus: 'We are the world's most diversified automotive supplier, with broad automotive engineering and automotive technology products and services used by automotive manufacturers around the globe, in Plastic Injection Molding.'

See if your sticker is still there!

Tim

^^^Yep, mine is there, I replaced my high level brake light assembly with a LR newer model this Saturday gone. No minor leaks now when I take it to the high pressure DIY car wash to wash off the road salt.

How Many UK i6s?

Continuing with my nerdy theme (see above), I have been extrapolating data from the howmanyleft web site to get a clearer understanding of how many i6 engined FL2s were sold in the UK. As the site states, the data is likely to be flawed somewhat due to incorrect nomenclature being entered onto V5s. However, I have hunted around for all variants on the site, so it is the best I can do for now.

I’d like to approach LR themselves to get more definitive data, though I have yet to investigate just whom it is I do need to contact.

My investigation leads to the following approximate numbers of FL2s sold in the UK with the i6 engine:

HSE – 485
HST – 2
SE – 45
XS – 25
GS – 7
Total – 564

In addition, I have found that a total of some 23 new i6 registrations since 2008 account for Japanese, or other country, imports. Interestingly, a total of 7 Si4 engined FL2s have also been registered since 2015

Incredibly, as at Q2 2021, there are 448 of these petrol engined FL2s still taxed and running around our roads.

Back in my box, now.

Tim

Excellent sleuthing there Tim!

What was the HST spec? Was it just bodywork?

Thanks to you I've asked for the James Taylor book from Santa.

And yes he does exist – he's just been on the news...

HST was some rather unattractive bodywork additions.

All will be revealed in the book, once you open your stocking!

Paul, what difference is there between that 15.05.2007 and your build date?
