He has a point, if you buy a 100K+ FL2 that's only had the JLR specified maintenance. |

Not very constructive in his criticism, as to why! DAVE. |

Last time I looked he was still endorsing the sale of magic pills as an everlasting sludge-gathering fuel additive. And such statistics as he has are very anecdotal. I’ve been driving Astras since the 1980s and an FL2 since 2010 and to describe either as inherently unreliable simply doesn’t reflect my experience at all. |

He is a used car salesman so couldn't trust a thing he says! Andrew

Never had any real bother with any of the three Freelanders we owned or the 1.0 ecoboost Bmax which has been in the family for the best part of 6 years ( fantastic engine imo )

Fairly general guidance and probably not too far off the mark. He needs to tidy his kitchen though. SD4 HSE Lux

He is not very specific in his criticism, and doesn't give any facts.

Conversely, in the nearly 10 years and 30,000 miles that we owned a Freelander 2 it was probably £ for £ the worst vehicle I’ve ever owned for major component failure and cost . Obviously because of the length of time and low mileage ( bought at 30k sold at 60k ) the costs were spread over those years . If those costs had been spread over a normal 10k/3 year mileage they’d have been crippling . Having said that for the last 30 years of my working life I ran some pretty expensive company cars and there were some major issues with prestige brands . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
