I paid £120 at my local specialist which is on the high side but they have helped me out for free on numerous occasions so I am happy to pay more every now and again. A colleague had his done for £70 at his local garage. They didn’t flush the autobox-just drained and then topped up with fresh. You only do a partial change unless you repeat the process. Hope that helps. |

The autobox holds about 7L of ATF. Removing the drain plug drains only about 3L ie 57% remaining inside the autobox/torque convertor/cooling system.

If 12l of new oil is required how on earth can the job be done properly at a garage for less tha £200/£250. ATF oil is circa £40 per 4 litres??? MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

A full "flush" from a gearbox specialist costs about £300 with gearbox reset, using a Fedauto member. |

I dis this as my gearbox had 118000 on it and had not been done. They carried on flushing until it ran "clear". Feels much smoother now and yes preventative peace of mind is great! |

I do the flush and top up using the pipe from the fluid cooler to the auto box. Four times using 3 litres each time does it. Finish off with a proper level check using half a litre as a final top up.

Yeah doing my simple flush made it very noticeable difference and mine had only done 40k miles. Whatever method one uses its definitely worth it. I intend to do a proper full continuous flush next using the cooler pipes. Jules |

Yes I looked at that but had previously bought 20 litres of Ravanol TWS about two or three years ago in anticipation of doing the flush, so I used most of that up and have now had to buy an extra 4 litres to ensure I have enough for the next flush. Just as I say shocked at the price increase.
