Where's my speaker?

In my quest to find somewhere to put an auxiliary switch, I removed some of the dashboard trim today. When I removed the speaker grille from the centre of the dashboard, I was surprised to find that there was no speaker in there.
Nor was there any wiring for one or any sign that one had ever been fitted.
Should there be a speaker in there, or was it an optional extra?
The car is a 2010 GS , with single disc CD player and Alpine speakers in the doors.

According to the handbook, I too have the premium audio unit.

It's certainly not the standard one, which appears completely different.

MY10 GS had 9 speakers as standard. I guess that is 4 on either side and one in the boot but that really is a guess so you'll have to count them Wink

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Tonga Green

https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic17777.html Thumbs Up

Mine is a 2007 TD4 SE and it came with the midline system, it had no centre dash speaker.

Just bought a Premium amp from a Jaguar for £25 off eBay. Getting together the speakers ready for the upgrade. Will post my upgrade on here when done.
