I am going to ask the simple but most obvious Q, is the vehicle in P when you try to remove the key? |

Not having the car in say, first gear & the hand brake on, maybe. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Does the starter battery have decent voltage. A lot of things stop working with a tired starter battery. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

This happed to me once. I locked vehicle with spare fobb and then as I unlocked the key just released. Never before and never since. Whilst I keep spare key home I never go anywhere without the spare fobb in vehicle.

I switched off ignition & fobb did not release, ignition would not work . I remember radio stayed on. I was home so I got spare fobb. Since then spare stays in car. ( I have a spare key to get in )
