Like MartynB says, there's no problem with fuel here in East Yorkshire either. We had queuing that first weekend but after that it's just been normal.

I don't really understand why some areas have much worse problems than others - is it just that northerners don't panic as much? Or do they use more fuel in the affected areas so a slight drop in supplies is a lot more serious?

Thought it was very much down to locality of depots and driver availability?

Frustrated drivers are concerned because they can't panic buy. After much heated debate the cause of this was found to be that their tanks were already full due to panic buying last week.

Drove past four filling stations today and there were no queues at any of them with just the usual amount of vehicles filling up.

Sad still queues and closures around here. Nowhere is yet back to what could be called normal

Queues outside Morrisons in Wisbech this morning. When I came out of the carpark, the pumps were closed. Tesco had the army filling up. Shell on the A47 was closed, but it has Strategic Reserve full tanks uderground, put in a few years ago.

Had to pick up medicine from vet and found myself in queue for local garage. Reversed back out into queue and given this was only six cars off the forecourt I thought sod it, fill up. Had half tank so ordinarily wouldn't have bothered but given I was in the queue any way.
Had earlier spoken to a mate who was on a forecourt yesterday opposite someone who managed to squeeze in £1:79!!! yes that's right £1:79, into his car. I didn't feel so bad about my £47

Please don't stereotype. I'm an out and out southern softy...born in Bucks which has now became Berks..but I can't be arsed to queue for diesel, I just wait for the nonsense to quieten down, and only drive for essentials. I noticed my local BP had fuel on Sunday as I was being chauffeured to my daughters for a super Sunday lunch.. so on Monday I was there at 05.59 and had a nice fill up after waiting 8 days. Us oldies have seen it all before. Tranquillo.

Likewise, I'm still waiting for the queues to disappear though,
as an ex responder I'm in the habit of keeping plenty of fuel in the tank
so in a way I was prepared for this situation. DAVE.

Really hope this is sorted by next weekend - nipping down to my Mums. 1600 miles each way, with only 320 mile range I am going to need to fill up 5 times on the way down. Granted driving through France and Spain shouldn't be a problem, but I will be on fumes by the time I get to Dover. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

Try and leave home with a full tank, it’s still very hit and miss where you’ll guarantee fuel in the south. Overhead gantries warning of no diesel at Thurrock Services on M25 today Sad
