Tigertim, as Grimdog states above, the engine block coolant drain is an integral part of the pump assembly, have you checked that it's not leaking from that? |

In view if the above comments I thought I'd check inside the box of my Gates Cambelt kit (KP25633XS). It has a metal gasket with a black coating.

Dayco official video says put RTV on both sides of gasket...

Found that one a few days ago. Another conflicting advice as the LR workshop manual do not mention any RTV sealer and the Haynes manual the same.... |

I have the solution. Monday Wednesday Friday fit it dry, Tuesday Thursday put some sealant on. Saturday and Sunday put sealant on the outer face only. |

No, they have ignored me completely. I will attempt to contact them again. Their on-line customer support only allows a limited number of characters in the message - not helpful really. Gates customer services is in Belgium - nothing in the UK Jules |
