Guys, why do you all seem to make life so difficult for yourselves?

Thanks @ I Like Chips, that is a possibility, but I would still like to know the Denso part number.

Looks like the one that says Denso on it. The first one is for autos, the last isn’t OEM.

@Grimdog, personally I would go with LR014060, the Denso one in the middle of the three, but I can find no reference to the beefier starter from any of my parts suppliers. As for the glow plugs, that’s an old cookie that has caught many people out over the years, a real pain when you have to do that job twice (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.

Thanks for the advice guys, I think that I will take your advice Badger51, and go for the LR014060. The stop start doesn't get much use, so the starter will probably not have to work much harder than a non stop start. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. |

So, to make doubly doubly sure, I took a photo of my starter in situ.

At least now you’ll be happy about that choice (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
