Satnav DVD

We haven't had an update for the satnav DVD since 2019! Has anyone managed to source one? Or successfully made their own?

Actually LR have not approved an update since 2013 (I think) what has been happening is that sellers have taken the system used in the Mazda and Subaru MMM2 system and rebadged it, so if Mazda or Subaru do not release an update there is not a lot than can be done.

The alternative is to buy a TomTom or Garmin. MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black Gone

I just bought a disc for up to 2020 from

www.satnavidisc.co.uk

Cost app£25.00 inc postage., although i didn't see much difference from the old 2010 disc that was in the car.
Although haven't had to use it much as still keeping trips short because of Covid.

Yes I have the Satnavi disk for 2019 - 20120. It came out in 2019 so many roads have changed since then.
Yesterday it told me i was in a field then a lake. Actually the new stretch of A14.
I might have a look at the contents of the dvd and see what format the map data is in. Maybe I can download a map and update it.

The problem I see with getting any newer satnav update from a website that doesn't have a phone number is, are you really getting the latest version . Mine a different system than the DVD type it uses an hard drive and updated from a USB stick. A genuine stick is £170 a none genuine £120 I'd sooner pay the extra for piece of mind. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

I bought an 'updated' disc from Satnavi shop last October. It was dated 2019-2020. There is very little difference between that and the previous one. In fact some roads that were three -ish years old weren't shown on it. I did complain and was offered a refund. Decided to keep it in the end as I couldn't be bothered going through the returns procedure.

I think that's always the problem with either the discs or the sticks, they might say 2020 version but you're never sure until you're physically in the mapped area how updated they are - as someone has said they're in a lake instead of on a main road that's been there a few years.
Suppose it's all down to where the seller sources their mapping from and how quickly they come to market.

The 2019/20 disc will have data as at Qtr3 2018, the maps are from a company "Here" who do in car mapping for a number of manufacturers.

I believe that there was a software upgrade in about 2013 so if you are using a DVD prior to this there are a number of functions that you are missing out on.

The system software will automatically update if needed before it updates the maps. MY13 HSE Lux Santorini Black Gone
