Wonder how i changes cost per mile. It's more expensieve but you get more miles to a tank, granted, but if it costs more per mile, I can't see that it's worth it. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue.. |

Cost effectiveness depends on the price differential. If the price of 'premium' is around 6-7ppl (which it has been in the past) then its unlikely to be cost effective to use it. I use Millers power plus 4 which for the most part offers what the premium fuels offer, though you have to add it yourself which isn't quite so convenient. Millers works out a less than 2ppl which means it is easier to achieve a break even on the cost. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor ... but not any more ... ... psst look at my gallery!

I have found that I break even, with the extra miles I get out of a tank full, covers the extra cost. But the engine does run a little quieter and is more responsive with the V-Power diesel.

I fill mine up every week and the % increase in ecoinomy from V-Power does not seem to match the % increase in price. I use 60 ml of Millers Diesel Power Plus in every tankful, bought in 5L can at my local motor factor, and I think that takes care of the internals OK. I've had to hurry a few journies of late so the average has dropped below 40 but still happy with that and the fun-factor. Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red

So, does Millers actually give you better MPG? |

Just got around to reading the 2T oil post (in my defence, it's very long, so I never read it all) and think I've answered my own question.

I have run on Redex Blue for a couple of tanks, that done nothing either, no change to the MPG or anything

No, I have the same opinion There must be a whole bunch of us out there as well that thinks adding this and that won’t help The best thing for fuel economy is not 2T, oil additives, .e-freelys etc. it's your own left foot that's the issue here 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
