Can some one please help as Google is turning up nothing of any use.

I have just purchased a Freelander 2 TD4s 2007 with 97,000 miles on it. The tyres fitted are continental 215/75/R16 103H and this is the size and speed rating that Landover say is required for the car. It seems the only people who make this size and speed rating of tyre are Continental.

I can find alternate 215/75/R16 size the majority of them rated with better load but only an R speed rating so 106mph as opposed to 130mph of the H rating and the vehicle has a listed top speed of 112mph

I know you should never put lower speed rating on the vehicle than it top speed I know its about overall tyre performance but surely there must be an good alternative out there to the continentals

Is anyone using something other that the Continental tyres on their 16" Freelander wheels please?
If so what?

I do average mileage mainly on road driving probably more motorway miles than the average driver and Tow a 2 birth single axel caravan

… Probably better picking up a set 17 inch OEM rims for a much wider tyre choice. Generally not very much money and usually available on eBay and often on the for sale page here.
