I agree the software is not the best at telling the truth. It said my key was unsuitable and probably pre programmed, complete rubbish. Am not sure if anyone gets a message saying successfully completed you just know it works when one tries it out.

Update...

The Autokeymax fob failed after less than one year (less than normal use due to covid). Still started the car but the upper buttons failed (lock/unlock). I ordered another one, which programmed successfully and would operate the ignition, but the damn buttons didn't work... they felt like the PCB was misaligned in the case.

Ordered a different fob from X AUTOHAUX, it works fine and seems more robust.

The Autel software still did not report successful completion, but keep trying... once the second key is accepted and not ejected by the dock, it should be good. Haven't tried a third key.

Does any one know if the autel can program the later proximity keys that don't need plugged into the dash? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Hi, you asked exactly the question I wanted to ask, namely does the autel ap200 program the later proximity keys as well.

Did you get a reply? Or did you bite the bullet and try it?

Someone washed my spare key (naming no wives) and I've been timidly looking after the only working key ever since.

If there is a way of programming a new key (the sort you don't push into the dash, it just has to be in the car somewhere) I'd be very grateful to hear from you!

Cheers,
Mark

Had a search through the menus on the Autel AP200, don't see how to do it. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

@Bobupndown

once you are connect to the device with your phone....open the red app, not the blue one. (i'm sure you know there are 2 of them)

go into service......then into 'immo keys'

an issue i had was when it told me to put the new key into the dock, it was ejected as it was not programmed.

i had to hold it in the dock...which will click and buzz furiously at you! ignore it and hold it in until the programming completes..

i've done it several times over a few FL2's and it's quite easy if you follow what it tells you to do. Smile

no the AP200 cannot program the non docking key......it only programs the ones that go into the dashboard.
