WOW Paul, thank you! The above post helps greatly . I will remove the intake manifold as well as I had done it when I changed the thermostat and the little of a hose that cracked. Right now I am having a look at this video:

Well, the re & re was both good and ............................"involved". We did not remove the trans cooler nor the A/C compressor but did remove the manifold and the fuel rail.......changed the o rings on the injectors while we were at it. The Volvo dual rad fan fit like a dream and works as advertised. We did remove the A/C lines after evacuating the system but might have damaged the low side schrader valve inadvertently as it has developed a leak.

That's what mine did too. The shop first replaced the control module because the fan workd fine at room temp. |

Thanks Paul, my previous vehicle I had new from day 1 with less than 3 kms on it and I kept it mint and maintained for 21 years..........then, I hit black ice late November 2018, , and she flipped and rolled twice while saving my life ( I should have been in 4 wheel drive but was not). It was a 1997 3.4L 4Runner SR5, 5 speed stick with rear diff lock & tow package. She could almost go anywhere.................almost! |

That's what my shop did, it spun fine so they thought it was the module. Turned out it didn't spin very well after it got hot though. |

I actually salvaged the old module but I will have to test it with a meter. Sadly, the old module has two outputs but.............the unused one has no actual pinouts! |

Sorry to hear about the 4-runner Glad to hear that you are ok. I bought my LR2 in 2008 on the Ides of March What could possibly go wrong, its a Land Rover and I can't remember anything bad ever happening on the Ides of March Some may say that I am tempting fate But I disagree I don't believe that Fate is plotting our demise. Rather I believe that Fate is what happens to you when you somehow avoid what was suppose to happen to you. |

Motion, I had a very slow leak on the high side so I modified the quick connector to be used as a cap. The modification destroyed the quick connector. (Note: the connector bent my Schrader valve and it had to be done) I bought an improved design that is less aggressive on the Schrader valve. This is what it looked like before modification Low side shown but High side is similar I did take it apart and I cut off the pin that presses the valve (so now its just a cap) And I Tapped the Brass and installed a bolt with a Dowty washer Here is the finished product I just noticed that Amazon sells a tool to remove the Schrader valve without letting all of the gas out I may need to do this If I figure out the size of the Schrader valve I will let you know https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085VGN791/?coli..._lig_dp_it Thanks Paul |
