I get a vibration sometimes from rear and brake disc very hot could this be abs coming on due to uneven tyre wear. I changed rear wheel for the spare ?

If pre 2013 more likely to be drum brake. Common fault

Check That the parking brake is adjusted correctly and that it is fully releasing. It could be that one cable has become stiff and is holding that brake slightly on. Also check the parking brake shoes are all in one piece. The friction material has been known to come away from the shoe.

It could also be a sticking caliper, which can also happen, if insufficient care is taken to clean the caliper correctly when new pads are fitted.

I’ve had both problems , the hand brake shoes not releasing a few years ago . Very recently I replaced the rear discs. brake shoes , calipers and pads . One side was getting hot . I could smell the pads when I got out of the car . The sticking caliper ( As Nodge said) was at the end of it’s working life , probably hastened because the vehicle is used off-road .
In both cases though , there was a a very faint continuous squeal as you would expect from the constant friction. . The brake disc was burn your finger hot . Just for info , changing everything on the back end with labour at “a one man band “ was about £300 give or take . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
