2011 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Baltic Blue
Battery part number query

** Update - been doing a bit more digging and it would seem that the GX73 is approx. 4 cm longer than the AH52. That's a shame because I was going to get it for nothing!

Hi everyone,

The battery on my 2011 FR2 is in need of replacement. A friend has a 1 year old battery that has come off of her 2007 RRS.

It's a genuine LR/Jaguar Exide battery, the number is GX73 10655 but the only reference I can find similar for a Freelander is AH52 10655.

It's rated at 12V 90Ah 850 A.

Can anyone advise whether this is suitable or not or what the GX73/AH52 refers to?

Many thanks
Simon

If your car has stop-start then you need a AGM battery. Jules

90AH is good enough if you do not have eco stop start and it is of a similar physical size, If you do have eco stop start a good battery is a Varta F21 2013 FL2 XS.

Thanks for the comment about the Varta. I think I will try that one.

Try this firm has a good reputation and about £150 delivered Varta in my Freelander is the original one nearly eight years old still going strong.
