Dab/MP3/FM

Hi there. Freelander II HSE 2009. Looking to replace my freelander 2 in car radio. At the mo I've got Am/Fm/6 cd autochanger (in head unit) + DAB add on I want to replace or upgrade this to add an mp3 card reader with shuffle facilities. I do NOT want to be adding or altering the wiring loom. Just one out, one in. Any suggestion of what to buy please? UK only please. Thanx.

plenty of threads on here about upgrading the head unit, but as its connected into parking sensors, MOST network, steering wheel etc etc then for nearly all solutions you would need to add an aftermarket wiring harness and other bits to keep everything working with the new head unit.

in the past ive used a cheap (less than £10) Bluetooth adaptor that plugs into the aux socket at the rear of the centre console, power for it can come off the aux power socket next to it with a USB adaptor. Then you just need to switch it on when you get in the car, connect your phone to it and you can play what you want through it then.

Thanx. Yes already thought of that but can't find one with a shuffle facility. So would it start from track one every time?

its whatever you've set your phone to do or some apps you can use voice commands.

don't forget the head units in use from the FL2 beginning in 2006 and ending in 2012 are now very old technology so far from the greatest. This will only give you limited functionality via the aux socket but at least theres an aux socket to allow you the option to connect an MP3 player or phone to

this is what I used

Thanx. I tried using my phone but you have to whap the volume right up & I don't think the quality is that good. I was seriously thinking of changing my motor as mine is getting on a bit, But the newest freelander 2014 is still really not up to spec compared to something like the Hyundai Santa fe? I tow a caravan & as a metal detectorist I tend to drive on muddy fields so at a bit of a loss really as to which motor to buy. Swings and roundabouts I think.
