It will fit but make sure the DS you're looking at has the spare wheel well to carry it.

Thanks for that. That's a bit silly int it. What happens if you shred a tyre. Are they not slung underneath the back end or can the rear seats be removed to fit a spare? Do they actually do a 5 seater? |

Tyre foam or a space saver I believe. Yes 5 seater is made. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

My DS was a 7 seater and had factory towbar and had a fullsize spare. I think that basically if it does not already have a spare wheel then you cannot retro fit it as it will not have the spare wheel well. The exhaust is also different on the vehicles with a spare wheel as it has 2 separate backboxes whereas the non spare wheel vehicle has one back box that runs across the car behind the bumper. Best option is to buy one with the spare wheel already! |

There are a lot less 5 seaters than 7 seaters, so you might be faced with a limited number of SH cars.

I can just imagine the stress of a puncture on a French motorway with no spare! I'd have one strapped to the roof as lightwater does rather than risk it.

I have been on the lookout for a petrol DS 5 seater with proper spare for some time. I want a light coloured interior and sensible wheels (i think that 18" is the minimum) and most I have seen seem to be coming with 20" alloys which wouldn't cope with the potholes around here. So far no luck. As for taking the rear seats out of a 7 seater and using a space saver I hate to think what a different sized wheel would do to the 4WD system even over a short distance. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Space saver would have same or similar wheel 'height' as originals I would imagine? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Good luck , LR looked at me as if I was daft when I told them I wanted a 5 seater , Auto , Full size spare , as a new car . That was 5 years ago when they were pretending they had a new world beater and didn’t want to talk discounts !

On French motorway tolls .......... you would then be over the 1.85mtr limit ....... and be classed as a 'small van' ...... extra toll charge. do what Largered did ..... fit a swing away spare wheel carrier, that is neat. ![]() I blame Land Rover (Ford) for not maintaining the spare wheel on the rear door !!! Just imagine the stress of a puncture on Australia's Great Central Road. I shove a spare in the boot & a second spare on the roof. With the DS you will have to do what this Suzuki does & stick 2 spares on the roof!
