From someone who works for Euro Car Parts they have four pricing levels.

Lots of businesses have 'public' and trade prices... not many (not any in fact) that I can think of have a perpetual sale that entails entering a code actually shown on their website to get a to a price equal to or higher than I can obtain elsewhere without the faff of 'was £xxx, now £yyy but enter this code to get a further zz% discount.

Don't forget to check out their sister company - CarParts4less.co.uk - who will list an RRP of £202.52 (as per ECP) but a sell price of £103.89 online, except if you use the current 20% off code (LOVE20) you'll then get it for £83.11 delivered. ECP do occasionally have some okay prices but overall I'd only use them if I needed something today and they had it available. Better prices on 95% of things elsewhere. For batteries specifically, Tayna or Battery Megastore have been my go to for years. The price is always fair (you may save a few pennies elsewhere if you spend a long time looking) but on the whole it's not worth the hassle looking. ![]() |

For something that lasts for 6 years or more then, as I said up thread, Halfords supply and fit Yuasa batteries for about £130 with a 5 year guarantee and no frigging about under the bonnet. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

New battery time. LR fitted an 80Ah at 700 cca as standard to my FL2 (no stop start) but I found another battery 2mm longer at 90Ah and 800 cca. Yuasa YBX5115. Fits ok and starts quicker now. Old one was getting a bit slow before and not holding a full charge. Replaced at 76 months old.

I have ordered the YBX5110 / Yuasa 12v 85Ah 800A. The two year old Varta has been charged at some length with the shiny new CTEK but today it is back to 12.06v.

New battery fitted, starts like a good 'un but still showing transmission error - tickover only, the car hasn't moved and the gear selector hasn’t been moved out of 'P' yet. It still seems too coincidental that old battery and something in the transmission failed both at the same time.
