Hey jmccaff, how are/ did the repairs go?? I was looking at the galleries people had posted and you are steaming ahead with the crash damage photos. One of my photos had the wife on which has aroused a third more clicks than the photos without her, and Alexandrina has boosted her viewings with the pictures where she was present!!! Can I conclude from this that people whilst they love their cars and their women are still drawn towards carnage??? Boys will be boys...hope the repairs are going OK Fella, and that the car is back on the road good as new.

Just be careful next time you pass a truck and an Civic Thumbs Up

Hi carlfraz,

Thanks for thinking of me. Well it has been a nightmare of sorts. It seems that because this is such a new car and mine was crashed right when it came into the North American market their are no parts to speak of stocked up. In fact most of these parts are do not have part numbers yet. Shocked

I heard from my dealer and they are doing something called a line pintch where they stop the production line, and you guessed it, pinch some parts to ship to Canada. We are still waiting for more parts to show up but I was told today that the LR2 probably will be fixed by the end of June. This has been a horrible experience and I have totally lost the joy of owning this vehicle. I actually don't care when it comes back but I do love making payments on it though Sad

Enjoy and drive safe!!

Jim

Well Jim, the problem exists for all kind of parts for our LR2's. I have been waiting for the towing kit and windsurf bars since 3rd of April and still nothing Big Cry . So try to be patient (I know easier said than done) and I'm sure that you'll find back all the joy this car brings as soon as you drive it again. Best wishes... Thumbs Up

JUNE!!!!! Wow you could have ordered a new one in that time, crazy my friend, crazy. Do they not think from the laws of probability that some unfortunate candidate might just have an accident and need parts.

Please do not let it dishearten you. You waited so long for it but I can appreciate how you feel. on the plus side you are still here to make the payments!!!! like you said before, would you have wanted to have been in something smaller or lower in the same accident??? Thumbs Up

Keep in touch on the forum till you are back on the road buddy Thumbs Up

Thanks Guys,

I'm still on the forum, I think yesterday was just a frustrating day with all that's going on. I'm sure once I get it back it will be like I picked it up from the dealer for the first time. Thumbs Up

Hey carlfraz,

Thanks for thinking of me. NO LR2 YET! I'm hoping to get it next week. The body work has been done for along time now but I've been waiting for a wheel hub and steering linkage and a couple of suspension peices. You would have tought that when they took the parts from the line they would have taken all of them. Confused

They went back to Land Rover twice to get parts! The cost to fix the vehicle is about $13,000 and the cost of my rental car is about $4000. Thank you insurance Co. Mr. Green

Now the last problem that I need to fix....... I'm not sure if I mentioned this but when I picked up the LR2 from the dealership I went home and gave it a once over. I noticed that my dipstick wasn't registering any oil so I took it back to the dealership where they were shocked!! They filled it up and relayed the problem to Land Rover where they suggested that the engine be drained fully of all its oil then refilled. Once that was done the dipstick was still not reading that their was oil in the engine. Problem................DIPSTICK TOO SHORT! Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up LAND ROVER........THAT'S JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Laughing Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I've not been at this site for awhile as I never thought I would get the LR2 back but but it looks it is getting to the end of this nightmare. But once I get it back I start my new nightmare.........SHORT DIPSTICK Rolling with laughter

Take care.....Hope your LR2 is going well!

Good to hear from you jmccaff, shame about the delay getting the car back but there is a coincidence here!!!

My replacement car has been delayed by a month Rolling Eyes Yawn Question ...something about, missing wheel hubs, steering linkages and suspension pieces being taken from the production line. At first they thought Swiss Tony had a side line going in spare parts, then realised the plant is after all in Liverpool and things do often go missing there, especially from cars. Landrover deepened their investigation and apparantly some plonker in Canada had crashed his car and the parts were needed to repair his car Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Whistle Whistle meanwhile mine has to wait for back order parts to arrive Banging Head Ner Ner

Hey jmccaff, its not deep winter in your neck of the woods yet, so whats happening fella??, PLEASE TELL ME you are back on the road Question Question Confused Confused Confused

Due to the parts you neededfor your car repair my new motor was delayed and it is expected to be ready for 1st Sept 2007, so it really will be a Freelander '2' to me. Hope you're back on the road safe and well and enjoying the car for what it is, and are not looking back in a negative way - the car did well to let YOU walk away damage free.....focus on that!!! Thumbs Up Let us know how you are and if you are still pleased with the FL2.

Wink
