Yes, I have tapped into the Yellow/Orange wire, which is the main beam wire.

Looks very nice. Is it relay controlled and fed by a seperate large power wire straight from the battery? did a loom like that years ago on a golf gti mk2, used the main loom as switch only working the relay and 30A wire from battery to lights. Got about 40% more light at the bulbs !

Correct, it's taking power straight from the battery, with a relay from the main beam telling it to 'switch on'.

Presumably the brackets are a pair of the Lazer Licence plate Mounts? Link below.

https://www.lazerlamps.com/licence-plate-mount-pair.html

Which method of fastening? Not completely clear from the photo. Bolts and washers or just self tappers to fasten? How rigid?

What about throw on the lights or are they more flood lights?

Nightime before /after pics would be of interest.

As someone said earlier that pic of the front bumper looks odd with the reflections.

The bracket is from Lazer, pre drilled holes, self tapping screws and a little silicone adhesive for good measure.

It is more than adequate for fastening, rigid for the weight of lamp, no vibration or movement.

Extremely good throw.

Thanks for that reply,

no comment about the 'quality' of the dip beam. Whistle

Lazer do a kit to fit two lights into the D4 grille with grille shaped trim sections for either side of the lights. The grille profile looks very similar between D4 and late Freelander. I like the idea of the lights being recessed into the grille and at a right height to efficiently dispatch slow moving cars from the fast lane Smile

Though the D4 kit requires you to hack away at the grille, something I wasn't all too keen on doing because if I wanted to return to normal, with the FL2 it would mean a whole new front end! Shocked
