From what I am remembering, there is a function inside SDD for replacing engine ECU.

I exchanged my ECU for a second hand one using SDD, which was a simple procedure. However my old ECU had a suspect output fault, so still had coms. SDD downloaded some data from the old ECU (I don't know what data exactly), but presumably the injector codes, throttle calibration, any other relevant engine data and immobiliser stuff. I imagine SDD can configure a new module to the vehicle, where the old one has failed, but you'll need to have a look at the options. If the immobiliser stuff configures OK, then you'll still need to manually enter injector codes and run the calibration routines for the throttle butterfly, MAF sensor and anything else that needs doing when the ecu is replaced.
