There are many people "decling" covid tests, not from any difficulty with taking the test, but because they are not willing to comply with the behaviour expected from a certain result. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

Just been chatting with my little sister, she is on nights and should be asleep. Can’t sleep as she had to turn yet another life support machine off last night - more than two dozen and it doesn’t get any easier. I can see her packing in a job that she loved, and was/is bloody good at.
Forget the sanitised TV version, 24 hours in an intensive care unit is needed to shock some people into acting like adults Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Thanks Andy, and many thanks to your sister.

Yes, we do need to remember that the restrictions are there to help save our health service, and those who work long hours to look after us.

I also hope that, when this is all over, we (and the government) will remember to not cut our vital services back any further.
I would be prepared to pay more taxes to build back up the Council/National services that used to provide support for us.

When trying to support my late brother during his last years, I witnessed the local support services gradually being starved of money and/or being left to whither on the vine.

Again Andy, My thanks to your sister and her colleagues. My brother was in hospital quite a lot. During his final visit to the Intensive Care Ward, the doctors and nurses treated both him and us with much kindness and understanding. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

So, a new mutation has occurred in the south east. Apparently it is too early to say if it is more deadly or if it resists the vaccine but it's looking like Boris is going for Tier 4 down there along with some other high risk counties. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

With all the talk of the NHS struggling for beds and patients sitting in ambulances, am I the only one wondering what happened to the Nightingale hospitals? Andy

Not mothballed here in North Wales, all three are in use for a mixture of uses from covid recovery and convalescence and now one is being configured as a vaccine centre.

But weren't they mothballed for an emergency? isn't that where we are? Last time they were staffed with Forces medical staff and volunteers.

Good to see Wales is more on the ball. I hope the others ARE in use, just hadn't heard them mentioned. Andy

I can only imagine those wanting tests are hoping to get two weeks off work fully paid.

No other reason to get tested.

We don't have Tiers in Scotland we have Levels, upto 4 they are so much better than Boris's Tiers, Nicola tells us so every day in her party political lunchtime broadcasts, (sorry that should say Covid briefings) and won't say where the money is Boris sends her, because it hasn't been spent on what it was for, but she wants power to borrow cash to do even better. Hospitals in Kent are currently running at maximum capacity,
any non covid cases will possibly be shipped out of the county,
Brighton area has been memtioned but they are on the increase too.

Tier 4 in here then from midnight so if you've not got presents you're stuffed, unless of course you're buying them a food hamper. No doubt a mass exodus from the area in the next few hours.
Tier 6 on the horizon, won't even be allowed to look out the window at all the people walking past without their masks on
