I can only imagine those wanting tests are hoping to get two weeks off work fully paid.

No other reason to get tested.

Apart from one of my mates who's wife suffered a stroke and is in a care home - needs a test so that he can see her for the first time since March Or Cousin who's daughter has just taken ill in Dublin and needs a negative test to be able to get to Dublin and see her in the shortest possible time. Or my grandson who's whole year has been sent home because one child had a positive test, so he wants a negative test so that he only has to isolate for a week - Santas coming Friday.

Or if I as self-employed suspected that I was ill and wanted to ensure that I could continue to work with colleges with an old fashioned cold. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Why bother getting a test to take the time off; seems there's many just cry 'symptoms' and they're told to stay off work for a few weeks and daresay they're being paid for it.

Unfortunately you're right.

The Gov lives in cloud cuckoo land and wears Churchillian rose tinted spectacles.
This softly softly "Let the people use their common sense" approach - is too little too late.

There are thousands + using their "common sense" and doing exactly what they want to do.
A friend showed me as instagram video today - sent by one of his staff - at a rave with hundreds. She got fined £100 and she thinks it was money well spent. She and her mates are clubbing together to pay their next fine.

There is a significant % of society that doesn't care or doesn't understand and if they did understand, they still wouldn't care. Jules

I think there is - Wife and I got tested a few days ago (both negative) as we were hoping to see my son this Xmas and not unwittingly pass Covid on to him and his partner.
I dont think that will happen now as he is a 3+ hour drive away. Jules

"Wife and I got tested a few days ago (both negative)"

that is a 'snap-shot' in time. You could catch it the day after ???

Just like an MOT, the car could pass and when driving back to your home be pulled over for a no-working brake light.

Where ever you are, just stay at home !!

Sure I am aware of that fact. But you can't if you don't make contact with anyone. The intention was to isolate after the test - its quite easy where I live. Jules

And that's the problem. Don't give people the time to f**k things up. If you want a lockdown, then it should be immediate.

Same with blocking flights in from other countries - don't give people an extra 2 days to bring the virus back with them Steve

Our Gov should have shut our borders at the beginning.

Sydney has had 83 new cases - the response

"On Sunday, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory announced bans on Sydney residents entering their state, adding to bans in other places.

Those states' residents were told to return within a 12-hour window or face 14 days in quarantine upon arriving home."

That's the way to do it. Jules

Tell me about it, Sydney's Northern Beaches Silvertails as know by the rest of Sydney are not allowed to leave the Northern Beaches unless for work. Only leave our home for food or medical.

But most of us don't need want to leave anyway! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
