Hi All, got a problem with my 2009 FL2, when I press the start button all dash lights come on but starter doesn't engage, it has been doing this intermittently for a few weeks now it seems permanent, occasionally if I keep trying the car will fire up, so far it's had a new battery, instrument cluster, software update, brake switch (it's an auto) and steering column lock, stuck now as I don't know where to check next. I see it's quite a common problem but no one seems to have a definitive answer - anybody got any ideas

A common fault is the starter solenoid. A repair kit is available from Ebay to sort out the issue. You can check the starter by putting 12 volts direct to the solenoid with a set of jump leads. When you say the starter doesn`t engage do you mean nothing happens or the starter spins without turning the engine?

Are your Glow Plugs activating? - Or are you getting any error codes showing?
