Fortunately {fingers crossed) I have never had to use the emergency key to unlock my LR but this thread prompted me to investigate my door locks.

It should be only the front passenger door with the lock. |

It would indeed be more convenient for those of us in the UK, or a couple of other LHD world market areas, I imagine though the accounts people at JLR like to keep the number of unique parts or assemblies for specific configurations to a minimum, so we end up with a compromise in some areas. |

Look at the picture towards the end of this thread, it show how to insert key to remove emergency door lock cover.

Thanks for all the replies. They confirm what I thought that my car has the lock cover part of the external handle mis-fitted to the rear door.
