My Susie suffered an injury while out walking today. I didn’t even notice it and had been indoors for a couple of hours when my wife came home and noticed something was wrong straight away. A 4” gash on the top of her inner thigh. Looked horrific but just superficial according to the vet. £300+ of superficial!

A family, who were taking all the corona virus precations, were taking their two dogs out for a walk when the little dog said to the big dog "Why are all the humans wearing muzzles?

Because they haven't to sit and stay! Common sense isn't very common.

My dogs mother has had to be put to sleep tonight. She’s has a growth in her lung for nearly a year, is on steroids and has had the odd bad day. Only this morning though she was out with us and running around like a puppy! She's been going downhill rapidly over the past few weeks but she took a turn for the worse tonight, really struggling to breath so our friend took her to the vets and had to make the kindest decision to put an end to the suffering. 12 years old and she was the matriarch of the pack. Only pet owners will understand the heartache of losing a much loved member of the family. Only consolation is that all our dogs have truly wonderful lives. I’m walking with her owner and her other dog tomorrow and I won’t even be able to give her a cuddle.

We have been through this a few times and it does not get any easier but the joy dogs bring to our lives far out ways the heartache, for us a life without dogs is just dull and empty. |

Some good Spaniel news to balance up the loss - Dee Dee, the smallest and youngest cocker in our group has just had the largest litter ever - 5 boys and two girls! Her owner was so worried about the birth that she had the vet on notice that she may be needed to perform a Caesarian - she was very tiny and like a barrel! Anyway, all good so far.
