Half way through Cambelt/waterpump change i hit a present left by a previous owner/mechanic - a completely rounded bolt on my starter motor (lower bolt so the hardest to get to of course |

Alternator pulley does rotate in both directions but it should only drive the alternator one way. What you have to do is hold the alternator shaft & then see if it rotates in each direction. Usually it seizes & tries to turn the shaft both ways. If you need a new one, part no. is 535005910. (Now Sold). 2008 Freelander 2 (Nazca Sand) SE TD4 Auto. Statutory write off & on WOVR for hail damage but still road legal.
