I'm going to see this car - the model I was looking for, AND

This suddenly appeared this morning - post 2010 - auto - less than 100k KMS S model but with leather and an aftermarket satnav or something.
I don't like the colour, but ....

https://www.coches.net/land-rover-freeland...-covo.aspx

The KMS seem very low for a 2011 model. Will check the records. It's also a bit pricey. 15,500 euros. Mad money, but the low mileage plays a part. Going to view and drive it at 4pm this afternoon.

Then it will be down to what I can get in part-exchange for my Pajero ...

I understand that the belts, pump andd brake hoses should have been changed at the very least? Anything else to look out for on an Auto?

Thanks

Judging by questions on here I would have doubts that the timing belt would have been changed, it was originally 10 years and only changed to 7 years last year, though it states that the brake hoses should be changed every 3 years most only change them if there are signs of degradation. despite its bling it is still an S and rather basic, keep looking. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

the prices here are all inflated. It's a pain! If work hasn't been done, that'll be haggle material.

I know about Eurozone prices however the prices in Cyprus have dropped apparently due to Covid as people won't visit showrooms or private vendors, in March my 2012 HSE SD were asking €18000 today they are nearer €14000 and it only has 60000 miles on the clock. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

The search goes on

I checked over and test drove the car. It's immaculate and has a full service history which checks out the 82000kms.

It's an S model but with most of the extras. 15500€ is just TOO expensive for what I really want to pay and for what I need.
We didn't reach an agreement on my Pajero so it was either pay the full price and we'll sell your car for you or nothng.

It's a popular model and they're sure to sell it by Monday !! unless other people also see it as too expensive for what it is.

It also needs a yearly service plus timing belt and pump, which they might do. I think i'm going to have to sell privately and get one of the private seller cars with similar specs which sell for 13 - 14,500 euros. The Covid crisis hasn't affected 2nd hand sales for popular models like the FL2. People in Spain like them a lot ... unfortunately, but it does mean that examples pop up fairly regularly.

I'm tempted to go beyond my budget but I know I'd regret it.

BTW, those full size running boards look awful!!!

And yes, those running boards do look horrible on a Freelander and the same goes for the roof rails. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

Agreed on the pointless running boards and the roof rails ruin the line of the car in my opinion for what its worth.

Running boards are Marmite.
We are all individuals.
At one time somebody even liked those red leather seats! Confused

Says the man with both these horrendous items.
You can get many types of 'rock sliders', but these big fat wide ones just don't look right.

I have just driven the most perfect FL2 auto in the world, but I couldn't justify the price because
1) I just don't like that grey colour. so, a paint job would add 1000 euros to the price
2) the running surf boards took away the lines. So, I could take them off, but hey...
3) It is just too perfect and well kept for what I'm going to do to it. The extra money for the perfect car will meaan nothing left for proper tyres and a lift kit.
Actually, I don't mind the roof rails, but for any off-road look at a sensible price there is only one roof rack worth owning:
The Cruz Safari one.

It's a pain selling privately, but it's the only way I'lll get enough money for the FL2 I want...

The running boards, or we used to call them in the 1950s, side steps as we call them now are a marmite issue but with the shrinking size of parking spaces in the UK they make it so much easier to get in and out of the car when you can only open the door for a quarter of the way or less. They are also usefull when the other half, or domestic authority, is less than the 1.9 metre so called average height, but best of all they stop some of the mud and crud from coming up from the road and making the car dirty.

What makes you think I have both? A bit presumptuous aren’t you?

Took my roof rails off personally I think they ruin the lines of the car sold them on fleabay for £130 Whistle
Sidesteps as I call them are a functional item if you are not tall they give you a simple "step up" so you drop into the seat rather than continually slide over the edge of it wearing it out (have a look at used L/R,S especially D3s and have look at the edge of the drivers seat Shocked
Again personal choice we have always had them on our P38 v8 td5 D3s and Freelanders
sandy Thumbs Up gone
P38 v8 auto no problems, great howle from exhausts when giving it welly
Td5 auto head gasket,no5 pot not uncommon but good car.
1st Tdv6s manual epb problem fixed under warranty(stealer said"never heard of this before,i suggested he looked at d3 forum.
2nd Tdv6 se auto epb
3rd Tdv6 xs auto 2008,swmbo,s favourite.
