I have always paid cash for my cars so I can drill as many holes in them as I like. What is the point of having a car & not being able to do what you want with it. There would be no outback trips, & corrugated gravel & stone covered roads. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

First Aussie Drive (Media Launch)

Here's a random vid that came up in my feed.

Finally here. I driven the tracks in this clip since 1990 - a Series III, 3 different Discos, and other 4WDs.

The new Defender is certainly holding its head up.

Please forgive the Gee-Whiz commentators, the reasons will become obvious.

Article in Auto Express on New Defender PHEV, which will do a staggering 27 miles on battery charge.

"The battery gives the Defender a 27-mile
electric-only range, which translates to
official fuel consumption of 85.3mpg and
CO2 emissions of 74g/km, according to Land
Rover. Electric drive is sent to all four wheels,
allowing for zero-emissions off-road driving."

85.3 mpg is a catchy strap line Whistle

Mt Walker is a seriously steep difficult climb outside Sydney, NSW. Tried it in a Lada Niva, also been there with the NSW LROC. It breaks trucks easily. MY11 SD4 SE Auto

It needs graphite coloured rims.

The dark steels don’t do it for me.

I did, very briefly, think about getting them done blue to match the car. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Because that is more hardwearing, extremely comfortable and feels more like a proper LR at a better price but still has a lot of the tech that the Velar has.

As much as I like the Velar it’s not my first choice of LR, and I wouldn’t have another, it’s not really me. It was bought because there was a deal on it and my D5 was a dog so had to go. RRS was pushing the budget too far, FFRR was a no go and I didn’t want another D5 at the time. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200
