Hi Mate IIRC the red light relates to the immobiliser and not the actual alarm,

I’ve ordered the bonnet catch and I’ll put it on first. I was trying to work out why my lights flash differently from the manual and the BBA might be why.

All I had was intermittent alarm (fast high pitch) and hazard lights.

Bonnet alarm switch will be the alarm prob you can check by disconnecting the wires and joining them then see if you get any more trouble |

Hi, MY F2 is also a 2009 model, so replacing the battery now before it starts playing up is probably a good idea. Do you have any more info on the replacement battery you fitted? |
