So put an LR sticker on it and it jumps in price from 3 quid to 47 quid ? Wonder if that would work with anything else.?

Nah; I have an original Acme Thunderer which probably cost me about two and thruppence a few years ago and will still knock the ears off anyone standing too close*, including half blind referees.

I'm sure that was quite tongue in cheek.

Land Rover Magic Beans eh? Just what I have been looking for. What trim level are they, how many previous owners and how long is the warranty?

Knew I had one somewhere. It's been in the Missus' car keys for a couple of years. Came free with one of the Landy mags.

Incidentally, I was talking to one of the guys on the G4 Owners Club stand at Billing one year.(Probably Dave with the 'tache) and he told us one of the hardest bits of G4 kit to get hold of was the G4 paddles for the kayaks. People were paying £200+ for them on eBay. Then one day he was at a kayak club when he noticed the kids were all using identical paddles, just minus the G4 stickers. Price ? £10 each. He bought a few and added the genuine G4 stickers and sold them for "a substantial profit".

Same with tow hitches. Had a Dixon Bate drop pin hitch and the equivalent Land Rover item. Both were identical - well they would be, they were both Dixon Bate. However, just to have the LR name plate on one cost (at the time) around £90 more !!

It's a long story but about 10 years ago I was given the task of buying 35 Acme Thunderer whistles at very short notice for a marketing event. It's actually very difficult since sports shops might have a few in stock but none will have 35 and how many sports shops are there in a town anyway? I ended up driving around several towns and clearing them out of whistles. Even nowadays I would guess that it would take multiple orders from eBay and Amazon and I needed them that day. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
