when DL wanted to buy churchills, the government said no, but they approved the purchase by RBS (the parent company) they also own green flag & priviledge

They used to also underwrite BMW, MINI & Tesco's insurance amongst others Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

That explains why when everyone said tescos were a cheap insurer I never found them cheaper than DL  I must be addicted:

they used to be a cheaper insurer for people without no claim discount and fast cars

They used to take anyone and everything on and was eventually told by the underwritters that they would be out of business if they continued that way
