Tailgate de-chrome - Matt Black

So, Im really not a fan of chrome details on cars...

A couple of weeks ago I applied some black PlastiDip to the chromed tailgate strip to see how I liked it, which I did.
So today I took the plunge to make it permanent and hit it with some matt black paint, quite pleased with the results!

Good clean with UPVC cleaner
2 coats of adhesion promoter
4 coats of grey etch primer
4 coats of matt black paint

10/15 minutes between each coat.

Cool

I'm not too bothered by the tread plate, it's bound to do its job and get scratched up anyway whilst I'm hauling stuff in and out!
