United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black

If I remember correctly that’s a sliding ashtray on the dash.

I remember one of the estates near me brought four when they first came out,
within two years all four where off the road literally,
and not just mechanics the bodies had already got the rot.

New Defender dash looks more like a series 2A or 3 dashboard to me. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Panel joins on the top of the wing look very much like to original Defender

Whats the engine & interior like I wonder ?

Is it any wider ? Defender always felt a bit of a squash especially with the essential thick coat in winter Jules

It looks as if it could be wider than the Defender, but it's hard to tell from the pictures. No interior or specs released yet.

I just can't see this selling many, especially as it is still two years away from launch at least.

It just an old Defender with a diferent name.

Took a second look at the press photos and noticed they are addressing the USA market, just where JLR are with New Defender.

So is it to be a battle between New look Defender and Old look-a-like Defender ?

PS I do like the dual Alpine side-roof windows

Will Khan or Chelsea Truck Co make their version of Grenadier ?

after all it does need a 'floating-roof'

Ive been told that this is all a Delorean style tax fiddle using Welsh investment opportunity grants funded by the tax payer. But I have no idea if that is true, fake news or just a disparaging comment.

Im not sure what market the Grenadier is aiming at - the utilitarian/3rd world market is pretty owned by the far eastern manufacturers with tech-reduced models but still offering the backup of large international companies supplying parts all over the world. Is the Granadier taking them on ? Jules
